When Nollywood Steals The Show In Porn

The Nigerian Censors board would always come up to say it frowns at movie scenes depicting, violence, explicit sexual content and all other content that's either offensive to the eye or immoral in nature.
With trends in the entertainment industry, Nigerian movies are getting to have soft porn in their contents, Blackberry Babes is one of such movies and while that seem to be just a one off thing we get to see a lot more from Nollywood where explicit sexual content is inherent.
Room 027 defies every moral standard, and every rule in the books of the Censors Board. It’s an extremely x-rated movie at least by Nigeria’s standards and as a matter of fact the whole of Africa as a whole.  There are some scenes you won’t see on normal Nollywood movies.
This moral rule breaker (Room 027) features Tony Umez and Collins Onwochei... Two men having sex with the same woman, and not just in the saying of it, but in the actual doing of it as depicted in the movie scenes.
We are not sure if sex actually took place but the actress who allowed her person to be used in this kind of role is just so pathetic, a role which had your femininity “abused” in a way that would always raise an eye brow by African standards. Who is her role model? Please don’t say Sharon Stone because even her receive condemnation in some quarters in Hollywood a role which has sold all you are inside and outside to the entire world, and all of it over what? Fame? Money?? Beats me!  Room 027 is extremely filled with erotic scenes, Bold 5 Babes, Adults Only.
Tonto Dike in Strippers also could be seen in a naked dance with a male-actor who is equally half-nude, and caught carried away in the pleasures of the dance. During the lurid dance session, Tonto shamelessly perches on the actor’s male region in a manner that would shock many viewers. One couldn’t help but ask if it was still a movie or if something else was taking place. With these kinds of movies dominating the Nigerian movie industry, many people are beginning to question the direction Nollywood is taking.
A lot could argue that they are just professional actors doing their job and while their foreign counterparts do same and more of it, moral issue come into question. Culture comes into play, the African culture frowns at public display of sex, nudity and the likes.
When the government and some other advocates campaign against indecent dressing amongst youths and students, it’s pertinent that they start same from people considered to be role models for the youths. Entertainment artistes always have an outright disregard for morality embarking on expressing sexuality, immorality and sometimes drugs.
The NFVCB’s on its website says its mission is to contribute to the positive transformation of Nigerian society through the censorship and classification of film and video works, whilst balancing the need to preserve freedom of expression within the law, and limit social harm caused by films but the new movies coming from the stable of our producers are way out of line and for some reasons they get approvals from the quarters charged with sanitizing the videos that get into circulation in the Nigerian society.
However a lot has been said about Room 027 which showed in many cinemas in Lagos. Some called it outright porn. While some said it’s just boundary-crossing and daring. The movie is produced by veteran actor Collins Onwochei and it features one-time big star Tony Umez.
No matter how much development comes to our entertainment industry we should always be conscious of the fact that we are Africans and we are proudly so. They are lots of creative ideas to be put into movies and music to make them sell other than a wanton display of sex money promiscuity and drugs.
As long as we follow the trail of the western movies we would always be behind them, I would tell any producer "create a niche express our culture and the fast rising development in out entertainment industry, do it well and you don’t have to do it using sexual scene in your productions"
It is just my and my own opinion alone
