Scouting For 2013 Miss Earth Beauty Pageant Takes Off This Weekend

This year’s Miss Earth beauty pageant is set to take off with a big bang this weekend. Being organized by the Miss Earth Organisation, the pageant under the theme, ‘Beauties For A Cause’ takes off this weekend with the scouting from about 25 tertiary institutions in Ghana.
The scouting to be done in both the Northern and the Southern sectors, through rigorous pre-selection exercises will culminate in the selection of the lucky 16 to have the special experience only privy to Miss Earth Ghana delegates.
This weekend on March 2 the southern sector’s pre-selection will be held at the conference room of the Ghana Wild life Society, while the Northern Sector’s pre-selection will be held at Miklin Hotel, Kumasi on March 9
According to the Executive Directors of the Miss Earth Ghana Organistion, Edwin Lutterodt  Azu and Kwame Osei Sarfo, the sixteen (16) Finalists will then be camped a home for four weeks to undergo  a number of activities including tree planting, environmental education, beach resource/sanitation, management activities, eco fashion shows and themed photoshoots
These activities will take place in the Greater Accra, Ashanti, Northern and Central regions of Ghana.
All the activities of the delegates would be filmed and relayed to the viewing audience in captivating diaries, that would help sustain the interest of the general public in the pageant as well as promote the brand of sponsors.
The organizers indicated that all sixteen finalists would go through a series of voting, and pre-judging scorings, leading to the grand finale.
The Public Relations Officer of the Oganisers  Seth Kwame Nyarko also noted that the pageant would culminate in a scintillating Grand Finale, offering patrons a world class entertainment while helping Save Mother Earth.
The final show will see delegates make a 3-minute presentation on a pressing environmental issue.
This year’s ultimate winner will have the privilege of undertaking some very important activities  as well as walking away with an enviable prize  package. During her reign, Miss Earth Ghana will embark such activities including: Giving Environmental talks at selected schools, Planting up to 1,000 trees at  selected locations, Clean up exercises at selected communities.
For the prize package, Miss Earth Ghana 2013 will receive an official car, cash and other prizes worth GH₡ 10,000.00, wardrobe for one year, and will participate in the Miss Earth international event.
The 1st runner up(Miss Earth Air) will receive cash and other prizes worth GH₡ 5,000.00, wardrobe for six months and  participation in an international event while the 2nd runner up(Miss Earth water) takes home cash and other prizes worth GH₡ 3,000.00, wardrobe for three months and participation in an international event. The 3rd runner up(Miss Earth fire) will also receive cash and other prizes worth GH₡ 1000.00 and  fabrics from sponsors
The will be Special Awards which will go with some cash prizes. They include, Miss Earth Walk – GH₡ 500.00, Miss Earth Project – GH₡ 500.00,Miss Earth  Talent  – GH₡ 500.00, Delegates Creativity- GH₡ 500.00, Miss Earth  Eloquent  – GH₡ 500.00, Miss Earth Face  – GH₡ 500.00
and Miss Earth  Poise and attitude – GH₡ 500.00.
